I filmed, directed, and animated this music video for the legend Daniel Lemma and his song "Papi Dansar." The idea was to portray a loose character, "Papi," traveling through different places in the world, with the lyrics of the song elevating the story and moving it forward.
The song "Papi Dansar" addresses structural racism. The character uses his privileges to act and behave in a way that has zero consequences for him, in contrast to the others at the club who are scrutinized differently. Papi always pushes the boundaries, which eventually costs him his presence at the club.
Yet, even then, he doesn't have to face the true consequences of his actions. Papi embodies white privilege. "Papi" was brilliantly played by Emil Ljungestig from the Gothenburg City Theatre. The entire video was shot on two different occasions at the bar Oceanen in Gothenburg.

Got some amazing help from my good friend Petter Bild, who graced these bleak and digital pictures with some warm and analog magic.
