I directed and animated this video for the artist llawgne, who collaborated with KLASS II.
The track delves into the universal desire to fit in and belong. In a world brimming with seemingly endless choices, it's often safer and easier to conform to the crowd. This understandable inclination, however, results in a pervasive sameness. While the song could just as easily have been titled 'Gothenburg Music,' that wouldn't have captured the playful essence as effectively.
In crafting the video, I amplified the classic Gothenburg/Stockholm rivalry to new heights. It features elements iconic to Gothenburg, including the football club IFK Göteborg, fish markets, the subway, and the beloved local figure Loket. The visual style draws inspiration from the 1922 Swedish silent film "Häxan," blending historical references with contemporary themes.
The video premiered on the esteemed music blog HYMN and is now available for streaming on YouTube. This collaboration between llawgne and KLASS II, titled 'stockholmsmusik,' is released under the WestCoast Sweden label and captures the vibrant, competitive spirit of these two Swedish cities.
